WorldTime is a freeware program that displays the time of cities of your choosing, relative to your local time. Available for Compaq iPAQ and Casio Cassiopeia series Pocket PC (ARMS/XScale, MIPS and SH3/SH4 powered processors).

Features

While it may not be as feature rich as the commercial equivalent, WorldTime offers the user to display the time of up to 10 cities. I've prepared a few different colored maps of the world. You can create your own but make sure the size is 512x256.

  • The world map is scrollable by tapping and dragging the map left or right
  • Defined cities are indicated by white dots on the map
  • The local time and city is indicated by a red dot
  • Tapping on the dots will display the name of the city, country and the time, marking it with a flag icon. To remove the mark, just tap on the flag again.

Installation

WorldTime takes a little DIY effort to get installed. To start with, download the zipped file for your Pocket PC. Extract the zipped file. Use ActiveSync to transfer all the files into the My Documents folder of your Pocket PC.

When you first start up, several warnings will appear. Just tap OK. You will see an empty screen. Tap the Settings button on the lower right corner of the screen.

The settings page is pictured below. You have to first

  • select the map image - an 512x256 BMP for your map and the city file - the data file containing cities location and time zone

Note: these two files should be stored in the My Documents folder (main memory or storage card)

  • then define your local location

  • and select the time display format

  • finally, click on OK and you are ready to use the software!!
