For some iPod touch owners, their first task after purchasing their unit is to find accessories to protect it. And protection comes in a variety of forms and materials. And there's another group of owners who wouldn't want to hide the sleek lines of the iPod touch with anything, but only want a simple case just for carrying it around in their pockets. If you belong in the second group, then take a gander at this classy looking case from Beyza Cases of Turkey.

This is Beyza Cases' Slim Line Series - their Vintage model. It's a leather pouch with a well padded felt inner lining that cossets the iPod touch while you carry it in your pocket. The fit is not so tight that you feel like it's going to scratch your iPod touch, nor is it too loose that the iPod touch would slide out by itself.

The leather feels like suede, and has a very attractive grain. I'm not an expert in leather, but I know what I like, and I like the feel of this Vintage model.

It's hard not to notice the high attention to detail in the finishing - no stray threads, no roughly cut edges. The Slim Line Series has a contemporary minimalism theme working to its advantage with the only embellishments on the case are the Beyza logo (that reminds me of the cult-like Mac game, Marathon) on the front, and the company's name at the back.

There is an opening at the bottom of the case for synchronising and charging the iPod touch. However you can't access the headphone socket. I believe Beyza had this in mind for the Slim Line Series - if you want to use the iPod touch, you take it out of the case and indulge yourself in the bare nakedness of the iPod touch. Or if you're like me, insert the iPod touch head first into the case when you want to listen to music, and keep it protected in the case.

What do I think of it? The Beyza Slim Line Series is an unobtrusive case that you can toss into your pocket or handbag. It doesn't dictate how you should use your iPod touch - take it out of the case or keep it in the case, it's up to you. I have to say that I'm very pleased with the Vintage model. There's something about the colour and grain that I can't resist.
