I seem to have gone a bit bonkers looking for the perfect affordable Bluetooth headset. So the next on my list is the STEP 1150 Bluetooth headset, so how does it stack up compared to the Bluetrek G2 Plus and S2?
The first comment I got was that it looks like a hearing aid..and indeed my grandfather used to have one shaped like this...but with good reason, it's actually quite comfortable.

From the back.

This is the charging port, a kind of mini-usb port that connects to a charger. The charger fits the standard Nokia chargers, but there is a disclaimer against using any different types of chargers.
Another side shot.

The top houses the indicator light which flashes green...wish it were blue since it's blue...tooth right?
There is a jog dial below it which is unfortunately quite innacurate. It's hard to press it exactly at the center to answer and terminate calls.
Another shot from the top.
A side view of the jog-dial
This is the soft rubber tip that rotates into your left or right ear. The sound quality was good, with enough bass and treble. It also does not cover your whole ear canal so you can still hear normally.
Another picture of the earbud.
This is the special microphone using the "acoustic bubble" technology. The verdict is that it's not very clear at all. Compared to my Bluetrek G2 and G2 Plus, the microphone quality was better than the G2 but worse than the G2 Plus and S2. There is a slightly far away quality to the sound.

OK it's huge..but surprisingly comfortable.Yes I know I need a haircut!

It's less huge when viewed from the front.

Another angled shot. Putting it on takes some getting used to. You have to slip the earbud in then slip the curved back behind your ear. I found that in a hurry it was difficult to put on properly.

So in conclusion, for RM$199, it's not a bad deal for and interesting and comfortable bluetooth headset. Here are the pros and cons, you can decide.
Pros:
-Comfortable
-Inobtrusive (if viewed from the front)
-Good battery life
-Does not block out normal sounds
-Reasonable price
Cons :
-The microphone is not all that clear despite the acoustic bubble technology
-Looks like a hearing aid
-Material used looks like cheap plastic
-There is a noticeable lag when the phone connects to the headset. This is compared to the Bluetrek G2 Plus.
