SMIP now supports user-customizable shortcuts! Read below on how to create your own shortcuts
This SIP is created out of the curiousity of how easy it is to create a SIP for PocketPC.
The Panel is filled with 30 smilies, taken from MSN and Yahoo. I only picked those more obvious one,
a future plan to improve it is in my head, depends on how popular this is going to be. Below the 3 rows of smilies you'll see a "Return" and "Backspace" icon.
Just incase you'll need them ;)
Well, I never knew it can be SO MUCH FUN!! :)
Installation
- download the CAB file into your PocketPC.
- using Pocket Explorer, tap on the CAB file.
- Once you are done, you should see the the addtional item in your SIP selection.
Creating your own sets of shortcuts
- create an image (jpg, gif or bmp) of size 240 x 72 with icons in rows and columns.
- create a text file, name it with the file extension .smip (for example, myim.smip)
inside this file, enter
SIZE r, c
r and c is the number of row and column of your image.
then, simply enter all the shortcuts for each item in the image,
starting from left to right, top to bottom. Separate them by space.
:) :X :D :B
You may refer to the smiley_sample.smip and smiley_sample.gif for detail.
- Save the files in your "My Documents" (you can create sub-folders)
- Goto Start -> Settings -> Personal -> Input, select "Smiley Input Panel" under the Input method dropdown list. Then click on the "Options" button.
- Click on each ".." button and select the image and smip file. Then click "OK" to save the settings.
- Simply re-select Smilies Input Panel to apply the new settings!
